Clothing for the Deceased: What to Provide

For many, choosing clothing for the deceased is a moment when loved ones symbolically touch the deceased´s story for the last time. The chosen clothing can carry a memory, gratitude, or a reflection of personality.

If you wish to dress the deceased in his/her own clothes, it is ideal to bring them when arranging the funeral. Please hand over the clothes clean and prepared to the PEGAS office or, by prior arrangement, by another route that is closer to you.

Most often, civilian clothing is chosen: a shirt, blouse, trousers, skirt or dress. Sometimes a suit, sometimes a simple sweater. Shoes are not required, we leave it to the family to decide what style feels natural and dignified.

If clothing is not available, we dress the deceased in a mourning shroud or other appropriate clothing that we respectfully provide.
