What to prepare for arranging a funeral

When you come to arrange a farewell, you don’t need to have everything ready. A single document is enough for the actual arrangement. However, a few other things will help us arrange everything smoothly and without unnecessary extra arrangements.

What is needed

• ID card of a person arranging a funeral: The only necessary document for the arrangement is the ID card of the person who is personally ordering the funeral.

Recommended documents of the deceased

• ID card of the deceased: If you have it, please bring it with you or take a picture of it for us. If you don’t have it, it’s okay – we can arrange a farewell without it.
• Other documents (e.g. birth certificate): They are not needed for the appointment. If you bring them, we can make a copy of them if necessary.

What is good to bring with you?

If possible, please bring a few personal items to the first meeting. This will save you another trip and allow us to prepare everything in a timely and careful manner.

• Clothing for the deceased: It is ideal to bring your clothes when making the appointment. This way we can naturally follow up on the individual steps of preparation.
• Ceremony photos: If you would like to have a framed photo with the coffin or urn during the ceremony, you can bring it directly.
• Photos for finishing the look of the deceased: Sometimes a family wishes to preserve the image in which they remember their loved one best – for example, their usual hairstyle before a long illness. In such cases, a photograph can be helpful as a guide for the adjustment.
