Death abroad and repatriation – how to proceed?
The death of a loved one abroad is a difficult life situation. Don't worry, we are here for you.
Our goal is to ensure that the return of the deceased to their homeland or their transfer from the Czech Republic to another country is organized as quickly as possible, with full respect for the wishes of the family and with minimal burden on the bereaved.
We provide comprehensive repatriation services – transportation of the deceased from abroad to the Czech Republic and from the Czech Republic to abroad, by air and land from anywhere in the world.
If a death occurs abroad:
- Contact our non-stop line immediately – we are available to you 24 hours a day.
- Tell us the basic information – the name of the deceased, place of death, your contact information.
- We will check the transport options – we will find out the conditions and permits of a specific country.
- We communicate with foreign authorities and institutions – we will arrange the necessary permits, documents and translations.
- We organize the repatriation itself – we will arrange air transport of the coffin or ground transport of the deceased according to the most suitable option.
- Upon arrival in the Czech Republic, we will arrange a funeral ceremony, or hand over the coffin to the funeral service of your choice.
- If the situation requires it, we will arrange cremation in the given country and subsequent repatriation of the urn.
Reimbursement of repatriation costs
Repatriation costs are usually covered by travel insurance. If the deceased had travel insurance, the insurance company will fully cover the transportation.

- If the deceased did not have travel insurance, we will prepare an individual calculation for you and propose the most suitable solution in terms of time and costs.
