Why does PEGAS use transport coffins?

At PEGAS Funeral Service, we have decided that, if circumstances allow, we will always transport the deceased in transport coffins.

We believe that a dignified approach to the deceased begins the moment a person leaves their home, hospital room, or the place where they spent their last moments.

A transport coffin allows us to preserve:

• respectful handling,
• greater respect for the deceased,
• more sensitive transfer process,
• more peaceful experience for the family if present during the transfer.

Are there situations when transportation in a coffin is not possible?

There are cases where hygiene situation or space restrictions require an individual approach.

This may be, for example, specific health conditions, intervention by the Czech Police or orders from a forensic doctor. In such cases, we always proceed in accordance with applicable legal regulations and recommendations from the relevant authorities.

Therefore, we do not completely exclude the use of a transport bag. However, we do not consider it a standard solution where a more dignified method of transport can be maintained.
