Chapel of St. Wenceslas
The Chapel of St. Wenceslas is located in the Vinohrady Cemetery in Prague 10, approximately 200 meters from the main entrance gate behind the central cross. This neo-Gothic cemetery church was built at the end of the 19th century according to the design of the architect Antonín Turk and is still one of the significant buildings of the Vinohradské Cemetery.
The single-nave chapel of St. Wenceslas is vaulted with a cross vault and its interior is illuminated by colorful stained glass windows. On the north and south sides of the building, the building is surrounded by arcades with family tombs, which are decorated with sculptures and works of art by prominent artists.
During the communist regime, the chapel did not serve its original purpose and gradually fell into disrepair. After 1989, it underwent reconstruction and today it is again used for funeral ceremonies at the Vinohrady Cemetery. At the same time, part of the lapidary of the Prague Cemetery Administration is stored here, which includes historical funerary sculptures and other works of art.
President Václav Havel was also buried in the family tomb in the cloister of the Chapel of St. Wenceslas at the Vinohrad Cemetery in 2011.
The PEGAS funeral service has renovated the interior of the chapel in recent years.
The funerals that take place here are incomparable in size to any ceremonial hall in the capital. The interior of the chapel was sensitively designed with us by Mr. Pavel Vrzák, a sought-after designer from the company Exclusive Interiors.

- The entrance is not barrier-free (3 low stairs), with assistance it is also accessible for people in wheelchairs (in which case it is possible to drive into the cemetery area to the chapel)
