Farewell to Miroslav Žbirka
The Big Ceremonial Hall of the Strašnice Crematorium
It was a great honor for us to hold a farewell smuteční rozloučení to singer Miroslav ‘Meky’ Žbirka. The memorial service was held in Strašnice, Prague, on Friday, November 19, 2021.
With great media and public interest, the musician was accompanied on his final journey by his family, close friends, and invited guests – among them Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, musician Jožo Ráž, and director Juraj Jakubisko.
Hundreds of sad fans watched the ceremony live outside the ceremony hall. They wrote their messages in a book of condolences in front of a photograph.
The ceremony itself was accompanied by songs by The Beatles, etc. The funeral decoration was dominated by a floral arrangement in the form of a guitar and a large heart made of roses with the message All you need is love.
